Another life update

I've been enjoying myself with my
stateofsin journal. I'm so happy that Pet helped me set it up and make a banner for it and everything.
This is just a quick update on what I've been doing for the past month, and what I hope to accomplish during the coming two before school starts again.
Well, band has been taking up a large chunk of my time. Our director had had a goal to get music copied and handed out by the end of the semester. I managed to put together folders for everyone consisting of pre-game, but our director hadn't chosen what shows he was going to do, which means he hadn't even considered music yet. So for the past month I've been copying other teams fight songs and all the stand tunes while I wait for him to decide what he wants to do. This happens every year, so I'm pretty much used to taking his deadlines with a grain of salt.
I've also been helping with other aspects of planning for next year, such as cleaning out the uniform room and cataloguing every single coat, pants, cape, and hat we own. The uniform room looks better than it ever did, because we also threw out a whole bunch of junk that people had just shoved in there over the years for lack of a better place.
When not doing band stuff, I've been planning and buying things for the three games I'm going to run at Origins this year: Prawn 1, 2, and 3. This is a bigger task than I thought it would be, as inflatables are much more difficult to find than I previously thought. I also have to make a giant 3 foot tall hand out of styrofoam, which I've yet to accomplish. I have, however, bought the styrofoam. It's waiting for me to carve something out of it in my mother's garage. The scary thing is I only have 2 weeks left, and I'm nowhere near ready. The worst part of all of this is that our event coordinator told me last night that my games are now a Featured Event in the Origins program. Which means more people and more pressure. I'm especially nervous because Prawn 3 is brand new, I've never even played it, and I'm running it.
So I have that to do. I also need to plan things more cohesivly for the summer meeting of my fraternity. I've gotten a good start with the alumni, so far I've sent out two emails and had a couple people respond. I've also met an alumni from the 1960's who's promised that he's going to clean out his drawer of Fraternity stuff that he doesn't want anymore so we can put it in the archives. I'm very excited about that, as well as the stories that he's already shared with me.
I finally found an apartment that suits my living style and made the deposit and signed the lease. I'm moving on my birthday again, which kinda blows again, but this time I've promised myself that I'll hire a company, if my friends crap out on me again. I'm hoping they'll help me because they're moving this weekend and I'm going to help them. Therefore they'll feel guilty enough and come fricking move all my shit. At least, that's what I'm hoping anyway. The biggest problem is that I'm going to be on the third floor... and there are no elevators. Which means fun times of carrying solid oak desks and tons of heavy boxes up three flights of stairs. Ah well. It'll be good exercize.
Speaking of which, I'm trying to eat better and have pretty much eliminated any liquid other than water, and sometimes juice, out of my diet. I also exercized twice this week! It's a miracle! And by exercize, I mean: I parked my car and walked to all my errands in the downtown part of my town. It wasn't like a huge deal, only a couple blocks, but it's more than I've previously done, especially when I could have just driven everywhere like I usually do. I also just broke out my rollerblades and went for a roll around my apartment complex parking lot. And just like when I rode my bike, I had aspirations to go out onto the main street and actually go somewhere, but I tired out before I even made it to the street. It's pretty pathetic, but I need to get back into shape. I've heard rumors that marching band this upcoming year is going to be more regimented and we're going to do more physical "warm-up" stuff in the mornings, and after I got shin-splints that didn't go away for 4 months two years ago, I'm not in a hurry to repeat that.
I have, however, managed to gain 10 pounds. I like to think of it as muscle. My body likes to laugh at me and call me names. Sigh.
Oh well. I've left a bunch of stuff out, mostly because it's more fandom based so I'm going to post it at my fandom journal maybe. But that's been my daytime hours for the past couple weeks.
