Hurray for half the summer being over and being halfway done with my accomplishments!

Band: I'm completely done copying everything. There are two more songs for the fourth show that havn't been decided on yet, but everything else, stand tunes, scores, pregame, other teams' fight songs, and 3 songs each for 3 shows and one song for the fourth show. It's all done. I'm frickin' ecstatic. We just need to stuff the stand tunes into the flip folders and it'll be done.

Origins: Is over! I got to see people that I really really miss again, like Loafie, and I ran two of my three games, because there weren't enough people for the third one and learned how fucking boring it is to run it, versus play in it. I really never want to run it again. It was nice to experience once, but I'm done. If I HAVE to, I will, but I hope I never have to. It was such a headache. The rest of the convention was fun, however. I finally played Are You A Werewolf? which was a blast, I played in my X-Files CCG tournament again and lost this time, but only by 1 turn. I also learned more about what sort of deck I need to construct. I'm excited for next year with that. I played in a Carcassonne game, which is a board game I love and I won that, so I got to pick out a free gaming book from their table and ended up with another Changeling: The Dreaming book. That rocked.

And, once again, I got to play in MegaParanoia. I was still Red security clearance because I wore my Red Dwarf shirt, but I was on Production, Logistics & Commissary this year, so I spent the entire game trying to get people to drink Bouncy Bubbly Beverage. The theme was a Star Wars theme. Our mission was to follow the Rebel Commie Scum around TAT sector, then hold a fake battle to scare them away. It was seriously the easiest mission they had ever given us. And we BLEW IT. We managed to get to the No Bots Allowed bar, we saw a guy shoot another guy (cuz we all knew who shot first) then they left, but no one followed them. So we pretty much stayed in the bar the whole time, chaotically killing each other with a giant superpowered lazer and being killed everytime someone rewired the War-Bot. It was hilariously ridiculous.

I won a silent auction for a piece of art by Theresa Mather. I see her stuff every year and I've always wanted a piece, and I finally broke down and bought it. It's a feather that she painted a black dragon on with red and orange accents. It's remarkable. Her website is www.rockfeatherscissors.com. She also has a livejournal, which I just learned LOL. [livejournal.com profile] theresamather I love her stuff so much.

I also ran a red light on my way home by accident... I honestly didn't see the damn light to begin with and by the time I realized that one was there, and it was red, I was like "fuck it". But today my mother got a picture of my car going through the intersection. I fucking HATE Columbus and their bullshit hidden cameras. It's bull. So that's $95 I owe the fucking city.

Family: My brother got married! July 14th. The ceremony was beautiful and I already feel closer to my new sister Colleen. I did fine until the priest was like "Mr and Mrs. Jonathan and Colleen Wenger. Then I started crying and I couldn't stop. But it's really weird for there to be another Mrs. Wenger. I'm so used to people calling my mother that and it just doesn't fit Colleen at all LOL! They're down in Jamaica now, probably burning to a crisp. I'm so happy for them. For once the whole weekend I didn't feel like the crazy outsider. The best part of it, other than the ceremony, was at the reception. I got to talk to some of my favorite adults from my childhood who I haven't seen in a decade. One of them, John, I haven't seen because he parted amicably with his wife and moved down to Columbus about 9 years ago after he came out of the closet. He has a life partner named Dwayne who was also at the reception and I must have talked with them for hours. I love them so much. I even told him that I really admired them both, because as a newly outted Bisexual, it gave me courage to think that if things don't work out in my life and I grow to be in my fifties, that still doesn't mean that I can't start fresh, like John did. He decided to go to law school and just passed his BAR exam and is now a LGBT friendly lawyer living in Columbus with Dwayne. He even gave me his card. It really made my month to talk to him.

I'm leaving for Florida for National Convention for Kappa Kappa Psi on the 22nd. I've been informed by email that I'm going to be the proxy delegate for the University of Akron, which I'm excited about. I'm not, however looking forward to the discussions for the committee I've been assigned to. I'm on Jurisdiction. Which means that I'm one of many who get to discuss the kurfluffle of what sort of fraternity business Alumni members get to participate in, what it really means to be alumni, and all that jazz, which has been a controversial topic recently. I'm a little worried that it's going to become a shouting match, but hopefully everyone will remember that we're adults in a BAND fraternity and we're really all here for the same thing. Band! Not to debate and argue! Ah well. I'm sure it'll work itself out.

After National Convention is over, I get to come back and immediately move. Which means that this week is my packing week. Then I'm back on the 28th and moving on the 30th and I get to CLEAN on my birthday! Woohoo!! Then I get 2 days to unpack and get things together in my new apartment before the Marching Band Pre-camp on August 3rd-5th. And THEN I'll be free until august 10th when my mom and I are gonna go spend the weekend with my brother and sister in Columbus and then I have one more week off until Band Camp starts on August 16th. And then school starts right after band camp is over, and I've got football games and Fraternity stuff every fucking weekend until November. The exception is the one weekend in October that I'm skipping the KSU vs OSU football game in order to go to Winchester Con in Los Angeles with Pet. And finally, in December, after exams, I MIGHT have some free time! Woo!

I also signed up for another class because I really want to get everything done in 2.5 years. So I'm now taking 16 hours worth of classes. I'm scared about that because I'm sure I'm going to get burned out again, plus it's going to be a SHITLOAD of reading, but I never read anyway and I manage to get B's so hopefully it'll turn out ok. I've heard tell that most of the theatre classes are in the crack ass of dawn because the rehersals for the productions are in the afternoons, so I'm not really looking forward to the next 2.5 years... but I'm serious about this degree and I'm closer than I ever was to being done.

Well that's about it for now. Update to life over.
